This option is for people who have bought some space from a web host, and they want to use it for backup. Perhaps they like their web host, but they can't be 100% sure that they 100% trust them, but they still have data which is valuable (and maybe confidential) that they want to keep safe, in a remote location.
How it might work: Before the rsync transfer, files are copied to a holding area. The files are encrypted using gpg, then rsynced to the remote host.
